Possible Basketball Transfer

The Gamecocks may have picked up a basketball transfer in Terrence Turner, a 6-5, 210pound player from UNC-Asheville. While it would be nice to pick up a transfer from UNC-Chapel Hill, Turner sounds like a solid player. He averaged 10 points and 10 boards a night for a Fayette County (Ga.) high school team that advanced to the 4A State championship game.

Here is what the blog Georgiahoops.com had to say about his performance at an all star camp a couple of years ago:

"Simplicity and aggressiveness were the staples of his game. Turner attacked the glass with ease, owned the boards and passed the ball out of the post. He embodied the junk yard dog mentality. There wasn't a lot of flash but there was plenty of production. You can tell that Turner is a well taught prospect."

  1. We need all the help we can get in hoops. If he could grow about three more inches, put on 20-30 pounds and hit free throws he would be just what we needed. I'm still believing in the team and Coach Green. They are closer than anyone who sees 2-15 may think. It's not going to happen this year, but next?

Any word on Latiq Agard? He is supposed to be a stud scorer, but hasn't played much because of some kind of eligibility issue. He is still on the team, because I see him on the bench. Thanks!

  2. I'd love to know what happened w/ Agard. I think the coaches were really looking for scoring from him. I know at one point he was committed to St. Joe's and they seemed excited to have him. If we can get him eligible for next year and have two more years with him that would be great. Maybe Turner, even though he is only 6-5, will clean the boards like Barkley did.
