Jacksonville State is at or near the top of the OVC standings in rushing the ball. That may bode well for the Gamecocks in a critical OVC matchup this weekend as Tenn. Tech has struggled stopping the run. Tennessee State averaged 4.3 yards per carry in their upset of the Golden Eagles two weeks ago. Prior to that, Tech surrendered 233 yards (4.5 per carry) to Martin and a whopping 320 yards (6.5 per carry) to SEMO.
Not that the opponent matters, because it is who we are anyway, but look for the Gamecocks to pound the ball this weekend.
