The Gamecocks are hot on the trail of Auburn High School linebacker, Mitchell Roland. Roland, 6-2, 230 pounds is currently a Troy State commitment, but he would be an ideal fit for the Gamecocks'system. In addition, Roland could potentially play baseball for the JSU. Scout.Com rates Roland as a Two Star player. Here is what ESPN.Com had to say about Roland:
"Roland is a physical inside run stopper needing to improve his lateral playing speed. Has the size with enough athleticism for the inside linebacker position at the next level of competition. His frame may be able to support additional bulk over time provided athleticism is not compromised."
