Notes From the Notes

JSU's Sports Information Department does a great job with their weekly gamenotes. Here are some interesting excerpts from the notes for the A&M game:

*Three assistant coaches have been with Crowe at JSU for all ten years: Greg Stewart, Jimmy Ogle and Matt Wannebo.

*JSU has the youngest team in the OVC. 67% are underclassmen.

*JSU finished first in the NCAA in red zone scoring percentage last year.

*The current team voted on the following awards:

Most Competitive: Josh Cain
Toughest Teammate: Jamison Wadley
Team Comedian: Justin Howard
Best Storyteller: Ryan Perrilloux

*Cain spent 14 days on a Mission Trip in Tanzania

*AJ Davis only played one year of high school football. It is scary how good this guy could end up being.

*Corey Freeman's grandfather had a movie made about his life starring John Travolta: "Love Song For Bobby Long"

*Marques Ivory's cousin is Priest Holmes and they trained together this summer.

*Rod Byrd's cousin is Gary Redus who played 13 years in the major leagues.
